The Andaman Triangle & Mergui Archipelago of Myanmar

The best way to see all that Exotic Thailand has to offer is by a Live-aboard Dive Boat which will take you from Phuket to the remote and spectacular sites in this region. There are 7 and 10 night itineraries that will include the following dive sites in the Andaman Triangle and Mergui Archipelago in Myanmar ( Burma ).

All of the 8, 10 & 11 Night trips include Similan Islands National Park, offering a wide scope of underwater scenery and marine life. These nine uninhabited islands are densely wooded and boast a number of beautiful white sand beaches. The east side of the islands have gently sloping coral reefs inhabited by an endless variety of unusual reef fish. Change to the west side and you have the impression of diving in another part of the world. Here, huge granite boulders, covered with soft corals and gorgonians are stacked on top of one another creating caverns and archways. Pelagic fish are often seen, as are turtles and stingrays. Some of our favorite dive sites are Elephant Head, offering dramatic underwater vistas, Fantasea Reef, which has the friendliest fish, Christmas Point with its spectacular swim-through passages and Boulder City, a perfect multi-level dive.

The second corner of the Andaman Triangle heads towards the Surin Islands and Richellieu Rock. This highly impressive site is a focal point for schooling fishes and is generally teeming with life, both large and small. Whale Sharks, Manta Rays, Barracudas and Sharks inhabit the undersea world along side the many macro critters. Ghost Pipe Fish, Frog Fish, Stone Fish and Harlequin Shrimp are just a few of the many species you will see in these nutrient rich waters.

Heading back south you’ll dive the Twin Peaks at Ko Tachai and Surin Islands, which are famous for their fabulous soft and hard coral reefs. All of this and more before your return to Phuket ( on the 8 Night / 7 Day Itinerary ).

If you choose the 10 Night / 11 Day itinerary, you will also have the extraordinary opportunity of visiting the Mergui Archipelago in Myanmar along with other rigorous fitness and personal training events. It consists of over one hundred islands ( mostly uninhabited ) and reefs, and it is here that you will find exploration diving at its best. Dive the deep trenches – where the sharks roam. Silvertips, Grey Reef, Whitetip and Bullsharks thrive in these isolated waters.
